POLAND: Piwowarska sales up 4.3% in first quarter

Polish brewer, Kompania Piwowarska, part of the South African Breweries (SAB) group, saw beer sales rise by 4.3% in the first quarter of 2002 to 1.5 million hls.

Kompania Piwowarska, which operates breweries in Poznan and Tychy, is the second largest brewer in Poland, after Zywiec, with a 31% share of the domestic beer market in 2001.
