Piper-Heidsieck has launched its first prestige cuvée rosé. The Rare Rosé Millésime 2007 is a blend of 56% Chardonnay wines, mainly from the Montaigne de Reims area, and 44% Pinot Noir.

"2007 was perfectly atypical, producing the first vintage Cuvée Rare Rosé," said cellar master Régis Camus. "We spent several years reflecting on the selection of grape varieties that would be best suited to the rosé version of our prestige cuvée. Rare Rosé Millésime 2007 enjoyed eight years ageing time in the cellars."

The Champagne is presented in a numbered box made of lacquered black wood and rose gold metal.

In the UK, where the expression is handled in the market by William Grant & Sons, the launch is limited to 150 bottles.
