Pimm's No. 6 Vodka Cup will return next summer, Diageo said

Diageo has announced plans to reinstate its Pimm's variant 'No. 6 Vodka Cup' in the UK after public complaints over its delisting.

The 25% abv variant was withdrawn by the company earlier this year due to “low customer demand”, a Diageo spokesperson told just-drinks today. However, the group said today that the vodka-based version of its Pimm's  No. 1 Cup will now return in “summer 2015”.

The company said that “consumers flooded the Pimm’s team with emails, social media posts and... letters calling for a comeback”.

Joanna Segesser, Pimm’s senior brand manager, said: "We take consumer feedback to heart, and we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for Pimm’s No. 6 Vodka Cup.”

The variant will be available across the UK through "selected retailers and potentially via an online platform", Diageo said.

Originally launched in 1964, Pimm’s Vodka Cup was the sixth variety of Pimm’s to be launched in the UK.

In May last year, Diageo launched Pimm's in Greece, the first European country to have the liqueur brand outside the UK, and has since launched to other western European markets.
