The Brewers of Europe has elected the head of Cyprus' Photos Photiades Breweries to be its next president.

The Brewers of Europe has a new president

The trade association said earlier today that Pavlos Photiades succeeds Grupo Damm's Demetrio Carceller. Photiades, who has been serving a second term on the board of The Brewers of Europe as vice president since 2015, will hold the presidency for two years.

Carceller had been president for four years, having been re-elected in late-2014.

"I am honoured to be tasked with leading The Brewers of Europe taking the opportunity to build on the progress achieved under the tenure of Demetrio Carceller," said Photiades. "I am committed to ensuring that Europe's brewing sector … pursues its dynamic participation in Europe's heritage."

As well as being the lead brewer in Cyprus, Photos Photiades Breweries also has subsidiaries in Greece, Romania, Slovenia and Croatia.
