Perrier is scheduled to make a loss this year, according to press reports. Les Echos said yesterday (6 October) that the French mineral water subsidiary of Nestle is expected to register a -2% EBITDA margin this year. The newspaper cited the chairman of Nestle Waters France, Richard Girardot, in its report.

Perrier posted an EBITDA margin of 0.6% last year thanks mainly to the summer heat wave, the newspaper said, but this year the water brand has seen increased competition from Danone's Badoit sparkling water brand.

The French mineral water company continues to be at the centre of a row between Nestle and unions in the country. Nestle is seeking agreement from trade unions to implement an early retirement plan.

Sectors: Water

Companies: Nestle, Groupe Danone
