Champagne Perrier-Jouët has launched the 1999 vintage of its Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque marque in the UK.

The Pernod Ricard-owned Champagne producer said yesterday (26 July) that the new vintage will be available through top-end on-trade outlets, specialist independent retailers and certain "prestige" department stores, with a recommended retail price of GBP85 (US$172).

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 1999 is a blend of 49% Chardonnay from Cramant, Avize, Chouilly and le Mesnil sur Oger; 46% Pinot Noir from Bouzy, Mailly, Verzy and Aÿ and 5% Pinot Meunier from Dizy, Hautvillers and Venteuil.

Hervé Deschamps, cellar master at Champagne Perrier-Jouët, described the 1999 vintage as "was one of a run of exceptional years in Champagne from 1995 to 2000".
