Pernod Ricard UK has appointed a wine development director within its marketing team.

Pernod announced today (8 December) that Adrian Atkinson will assume the position as part of integration plans for the wine brands the company took on when it bought Allied Domecq earlier this year.

Atkinson will be responsible for new product development, wine education and trade PR. He will work closely with the brands' winemakers in New Zealand, Spain, Argentina and California on NPD, and on areas such as blending, wine styles and maintaining quality levels. Atkinson held a similar role at Allied Domecq Wines UK from last May.

Atkinson is a member of both the New Zealand Wine Growers UK Advisory Committee and Wines of Spain Importers Action Group.
