Pernod Ricard USA has formally announced the nationwide launch of Soho lychee liqueur.

The US unit of French drinks giant Pernod Ricard said in June that it would roll out Soho across the country following a "successful" debut on the West Coast last year.

Pernod is hoping to build on growing demand among US consumers for Asian-inspired products. Brewing giant Anheuser-Busch has spoken of the growing popularity of Asian cuisine and fashion after moving to tie up an import deal for Tiger Beer and a marketing agreement on Japanese beer brand Kirin.

Dolores Concepcion-Daniels, Soho brand manager at Pernod Ricard USA, said: "The timing is perfect for a lychee liqueur especially in major metropolitan markets where the cocktail craze is in full swing."

Soho, which is made in France and imported across the Atlantic by Pernod Ricard USA, will be available in 750ml bottles at around US$18.99.
