As part of the restructuring of its Indian operations following its acquisition of former Seagram activities, the French wines and spirits group, Pernod Ricard, is set to discontinue production of two liquor brands, Santiago Rum and Tilsbury Whisky in India in order to focus on former Seagram brands.

According to reports, sources within Pernod Ricard said that the existing Seagram brands were well established, big volume players which were sold nationally, so it made sense to focus on them rather than Tilsbury and Santiago which were relatively small brands and only available in certain regions. The sources did suggest, however, that Santiago Rum might be relaunched at a later date.
