Pernod Ricard has rolled out a new bottle design for its Mumm Grand Cordon Champagne to the Japanese market.

The company said this week that Mumm's 'chief entertainment officer' Usain Bolt travelled to Japan to front the launch. The move follows last year's appointment of the nine-time Olympic gold medalist to the role

A spokesperson for the Champagne brand told just-drinks that the liquid inside the bottle remains the same. The new bottle design has also rolled out to France, Hong Kong and the US.

Earlier this month, Pernod launched a new video instalment as part of its association with Bolt

Mumm is part of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët, the Cognac and Champagne business of Pernod.

Last month, Pernod reported a strong start to the fiscal year, with sales in the first quarter rising by almost 6%. Growth was recorded by all three reporting regions, with Asia/Rest of World leading the charge.
