Jonas Tåhlin is CMO for spirits at Pernod Ricard's US unit

Pernod Ricard's Absolut Elyx boss will take on marketing responsibility for spirits in the US, while retaining responsibility for Elyx in the country. 

The company said late last week that Absolut Elyx CEO Jonas Tåhlin has been appointed CMO of spirits for the US & CEO for Absolut Elyx in the US. Tåhlin will remain a member of the North American executive team, reporting to division chairman & CEO Paul Duffy. 

"I am delighted to take on this new challenge while retaining my US-based responsibilities and commitment to driving continued success for Absolut Elyx which remains a top strategic priority," Tåhlin said. 

Tåhlin joined the company ten years ago. He assumed the role of CEO of Absolut Elyx in 2014 and was named to the Pernod Ricard USA executive committee in 2016.

Duffy said Tåhlin "has extensive knowledge of the Pernod Ricard group and brand companies. His experience, coupled with his expertise and familiarity of the US market, makes him the perfect candidate to lead spirits marketing at Pernod Ricard USA".

It was not immediately clear if the CMO role is newly-created.
