French drinks group, Pernod Ricard, the world's third-largest spirits group, could be set to make a move into the speciality beer market according to an interview with chairman and CEO, Patrick Ricard, in the Belgian newspaper, De Morgen.

While Ricard said that a move into the highly competitive mainstream beer market would require too large an investment, he said a move into the premium or specialty beer sector would be more viable. "I could imagine doing something in speciality beers, because premium products are generally doing quite well," he said.
