Pernod Ricard has lined up the consolidation of its offices in Paris, with the group's global headquarters set to move eastwards in the city.

All six of Pernod's Paris-based offices will head to a newly-rented, 23,600 m² HQ in Paris's eighth arrondissement that has been christened 'The Island' by the group. The building, situated near the Saint Lazare train station, will carry the address 5 Cours Paul Ricard, named after the company's founder.

Pernod first announced the move last year alongside a business consolidation that included almost 200 job losses.

When contacted by just-drinks, a spokesperson for Pernod said the company's current head office will be housed at the new site, along with its EMEA-LATAM-MENA, Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouet, Ricard, Pernod and Havana Club divisions. Around 900 employees will be based at the HQ.

"The purpose of The Island is not just to bring our activities together geographically, but also to showcase the future Pernod Ricard, a business that is open to the world and which places its consumers and employees at the heart of its strategy," said CEO Alex Ricard. "Both through its design and layout, the new headquarters is the embodiment of our group's transformation."

The long-term lease commences in the coming weeks, the spokesperson added.

The group's corporate head office currently sits at Place des Etats-Unis, between the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower.

Diageo is lining up a similar move in London, announcing last July a move from the west of the city into the Soho area. Like Pernod, about 900 staff will work from the office on Great Marlborough Street when the move takes place next year.
