Pernod Ricard USA has named Alain Barbet as its president and CEO.

Barbet, previously president and chief operating officer at Pernod's US division, moved to his post on 1 July and will continue to report to Pernod Ricard Americas chairman and CEO Michel Bord.

Bord continues to oversee Pernod's operations in markets in the US, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, as well as Pernod's Malibu-Kahlua International division and Pernod Ricard North America Travel Retail.

Over the past year, Barbet has led the integration of the former Allied Domecq business, which has more than doubled the Pernod's size in the US in a year.

He began his career in the drinks industry with Pernod Ricard USA's predecessor company, Austin-Nichols, seven years ago, as vice president of finance.
