Pernod Ricard is looking for local partnerships in China. The managing director of the company's China division said on Monday (23 May) that Pernod is interested in launching a joint venture with local manufacturers that may be able to share similar portfolios of products.

In an interview with China Daily, Philippe Guettat said that the joint venture will aim to help Pernod distribute and sell products in China and promote the partners' expansion in overseas markets. "We've positioned ourselves as a company of local roots and global reach," Guettat told the paper.

In addition, Guettat said that Pernod intends to promote its 15 brands within the domestic Chinese market. "We will introduce our Jacob's Creek series, the famous Australian wine, within the Chinese market," he told China Daily.
