PepsiCo has launched an interactive Pepsi Max vending machine that gives consumers the chance to show off their football skills for a free can.

The machine, which has rolled out into 15 countries including the US, Vietnam and Russia, uses motion-capture technology that tracks the movements of the person standing in front of it. The consumer then has to keep a virtual football in the air and perform set tricks to unlock the free can.

Advanced players can earn bonus time and win “Hall of Fame” recognition at each location, PepsiCo said today (13 May).

The vending machine is part of the Pepsi Max 2014 football campaign, which kicked off in January with football stars including Lionel Messi, Robin van Persie and Sergio Ramos.
