The Pepsi owner said late yesterday that Radenska, which has been PepsiCo's bottler in Slovenia for the past 20 years, will take over production in Croatia from 1 January. Radenska will bottle Pepsi, Mirinda and 7UP and distribute the brands in Croatia.

Production will take place at Radenska's plant in Radenci, Slovenia, a PepsiCo spokesperson told just-drinks. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.

The move comes after Badel 1862 decided to leave the non-alcoholic beverage market to focus on its spirits and wine portfolios. The company said last week that it is to close its soft drinks production facility near Zagreb, which bottles a number of PepsiCo beverage brands.

Radenska manufactures its namesake bottled water brand as well as soft drinks and was taken over by Czech-based Kofola Group last year. It was previously owned by Pivovarna Laško, which was acquired by Heineken in October.

Sectors: Soft drinks, Water
