PepsiCo is making structural changes in India

PepsiCo has moved all its company-owned bottlers in India into two groups to simplify its management structure.

The consolidation, to take place this month, will aid decision making and use of resources, PepsiCo India beverages CEO Gautham Mukkavilli told the Economic Times yesterday (9 January). A PepsiCo spokesperson confirmed the structure change to just-drinks, but did not comment further.

PepsiCo bottlers in the north and east of India will be grouped into a Himalayan unit under executive director Satyavrat Pendharkar while those in the south and west will join the peninsular unit under Samudra Bhattacharya.

Last month, PepsiCo moved to up its profile in India with sponsorship of the country's top cricket league, the IPL.
