The US soft drinks group is reported to be acquiring SK Jaipuria, based in the key Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Sources told Indian newspaper The Economic Times that PepsiCo and Jaipuria had been in talks for over a year. The sources claimed a lack of investment at the bottler led to Pepsi wanting full control.

A PepsiCo spokesman had failed to return requests for comment as just-drinks went to press.
