Drinks giant PepsiCo has opened its second distribution centre in El Salvador, the local press reported yesterday, after an investment by the company of US$1m.

The centre is based in the province of Santa Ana in western El Salvador and has a storage capacity of 60,000 crates of soft drinks. It employs 70 people.

The reports said PepsiCo expects to gain a 30% share of El Salvador's soft drinks market.
