USA: Pepsi Cola Names Bensussen Deutsch & Associates Primary Merchandise Provider for Core Promotions Program
The exclusive agreement continues a partnership established in 1997. Throughout their partnership, BD&A has been helping Pepsi develop its overall corporate merchandise program. In addition, the merchandise agency also executed several Pepsi consumer promotions; examples include the development of merchandise for the 1999 movie release of Lucas Film's Star Wars and the Mountain Dew Tour.
Under the new agreement, BD&A will help Pepsi streamline their catalog merchandise programs. The merchandise agency will also manage all product distribution to the company's national and international corporate network, including all employees of Pepsi-Cola, sales and promotions departments and the company's bottlers and distributors. Additionally, BD&A will be creating an online merchandise catalog and a new print catalog for all core Pepsi merchandise.
"Pepsi is a company with tremendous international brand recognition and we have been entrusted to manage this brand throughout all of Pepsi's corporate merchandise programs," said Jay Deutsch, president and CEO of BD&A. "Given the visibility and excitement that accompanies the Pepsi brand, this partnership will certainly continue to produce creative and imaginative merchandise programs."
"BD&A has been an integral part of developing our corporate catalog program as well as several successful consumer promotions," said Leslie Nagy, director of marketing services at Pepsi Cola. "BD&A enables us to be completely confident that our corporate merchandise program will fit strategically into our overall marketing program and will be consistent with other corporate branding efforts."
Based in Seattle, BD&A is a privately held, full-service merchandise agency that provides comprehensive promotional merchandise and brand extension services and strategies. In addition to physical distribution and retail facilities, BD&A offers a number of innovative e-business solutions including online catalogs, product-fulfillment systems and real time inventory control. BD&A works closely with clients to ensure that all branded merchandise solutions fit into the client's corporate marketing programs. Some of BD&A's partners include Agilent Technologies, Bank of America, Boeing, Delta Air Lines, Eli Lilly & Company, Microsoft and Nintendo of America.
