The Pepsi Bottling Group has appointed Cynthia Trudell, PepsiCo's senior vice president for human resources, to the board of directors during its annual meeting of shareholders yesterday (28 May).

Trudell, who succeeds Margaret Moore, joined PepsiCo in her current role in 2007, following seven years of service on the company's board of directors.

Prior to joining PepsiCo, she was vice president of Brunswick Corporation and president of Sea Ray Group. She also spent 20 years with General Motors rising to the position of chairman and president of the company's Saturn Corporation.

"We're delighted to welcome an accomplished business leader like Cynthia Trudell to the PBG board," said Barry Beracha, non-executive chairman of the PBG board. "She has proven herself throughout her career to be an executive who knows the franchise system and knows how to deliver results and create shareholder value. She will be a valuable addition to our board as we focus on executing PBG's long-term growth strategy,"

PBG shareholders also voted to re-elect Linda Alvarado, Barry Beracha, John Compton, Eric Foss, Ira Hall, Susan Kronick, Blythe McGarvie, John Quelch and Javier Teruel to the board.
