Paterno Wines International, today announced that Paterno has signed an agreement with Wattle Creek Winery to be the exclusive representative of its wines in the US. The deal will be effective from the beginning of next year.

William A. Terlato, president and chief operating officer said: "We believe the demand for California Shiraz will grow substantially over the coming decade, and Wattle Creek has the potential to be one of the most important Shiraz producers in California.

"We have built Paterno's portfolio of partner wineries so that it reads like a fine wine list, with strong wine brands from the world's most important winegrowing regions."

Founded in Sonoma's Alexander Valley in 1994, Wattle Creek is owned and operated by Australians Christopher and Kristine Williams. As well as Shiraz, the winery also produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier.

"Our wines enjoy a loyal following, however, with increased competition we need to grow recognition and distribution for Wattle Creek," explained Chris Williams. "Paterno's successful track record of brand building and placing wines in top restaurant and retail accounts makes them the ideal marketing partner for us."

Paterno Wines International is the leading marketer of luxury wine brands in the US. Paterno is the flagship company of the Terlato Wine Group.
