Paterno Wines International has agreed a long term deal with Chanson and Societe Jacques Bollinger to market the Domaine Chanson Pere & Fils brand in the US.

"We welcome Domaine Chanson and its rich history," said William A. Terlato president and COO of Paterno. "With some of the finest wines from the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits appellations, it is a perfect fit for the Paterno luxury portfolio."

Paterno's range of Chanson wines will include top appellations like Beaune Clos des Mouches 1er Cru, Gevrey-Chambertin, Bourgogne Pinot Noir and Macon Vire-Clesse.

"We know that 2002 is an exceptional vintage in Burgundy," said Terlato. "Under Bollinger's leadership, the Chanson brand has already made tremendous quality improvements. We are excited to be a partner in Chanson's continued renaissance."

Chanson's new management team includes managing director Gilles de Courcel. A Burgundian by birth, he has held numerous senior positions in the wine industry, most recently in Bordeaux as Managing Director of Calvet.

De Courcel is joined by winemaker Jean-Pierre Confuron, who started his career working in his family Domaine in Vosne-Romanee and studied winemaking in Champagne and Burgundy at the University of Dijon. Jean-Pierre also lectures in viticulture and winemaking at the Lycee Viticole de Beaune.

"The Terlato family shares Chanson's passion and reinvigorated dedication for quality winemaking," said managing director de Courcel. "Paterno's relationships with distributors and the trade, and focus on placing their wines in fine restaurants make them the ideal partner for us."
