Pacific Wine Partners has launched a new range of Australian wines in the US. The Constellation-owned company said yesterday (3 August) that Knife & Fork will be available in the on-trade at around US$5 a glass. The range is aimed at "wine consumers who do not take themselves too seriously," the company said.

Knife & Fork wines are available in four different varietals: Chardonnay, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wines are packaged in 1-litre bottles with screwcaps.

"Knife & Fork is the ideal choice for a by-the-glass program in a casual dining establishment," said Sally Osborne, marketing director for Knife & Fork, in a statement. "The 1-litre bottle gives the restaurant owner a greater number of pours per bottle, providing greater value to them and to their customers. Sealing these wines with a screw cap makes them quick and easy to open and re-seal, and eliminates the possibility of wine spoilage due to cork taint. Many restaurant owners have been waiting for a wine like this, and it is our pleasure to oblige."
