Orkla's Corporate Assembly today approved the acquisition by Carlsberg A/S of Orkla ASA's 40% shareholding in Carlsberg Breweries A/S.

Completion of the transaction is now anticipated to occur 8 March 2004, Carlsberg said.

"Following that date the partnership between Carlsberg A/S and Orkla ASA ends and thereafter Carlsberg A/S is the sole owner of Carlsberg Breweries' share capital," a statement said.
