Olvi, the Finnish brewer, said yesterday that it had increased its share of Finland#;s beer market to 12.4% in 2001 from 12.2% a year earlier.

However, its total beverage sales had fallen 0.1% to 103.9m litres, it admitted.

Olvi said its share of the cider market grew to 12.3% in the year, up from 12.0% a year earlier. Deliveries for domestic sales fell 0.9% year-on-year to 93.7m litres, but this was offset by a good rise in exports by 11.9% to 10.2m litres.

The company will report full results in late February.
