Australian wine importer Old Bridge Cellars has signed a distribution agreement for the US with Great Southern wine producer Plantagenet.

As of January, Old Bridge Cellars will undertake all sales, marketing and PR activities in the country on behalf of Plantagenet. FInancial detail behind the tie-up were not disclosed.

Rob Buono, Old Bridge Cellars' president, said: "The expansion of our regional breadth across Australia continues to fuel our growth. Consumers are gradually starting to discover, and taste, the true diversity of Australia. The Great Southern region is another great example of this diversity. The Plantagenet winery started it all and continues to lead this region today."

In the coming months, Old Bridge Cellars will be working with the distribution network to develop market level strategies in order to facilitate a seamless transition, the company said today (20 November).
