Juice producer Ocean Spray Cranberries is looking to close one of its processing plants, with 20 jobs losses, it was reported yesterday.

The plant in Vero Beach is used for processing grapefruit into juice concentrate. The company plans to contract out grapefruit processing operations to a Peace River Citrus Products plant in Bartow.

The Associated Press quoted Michael Stamatakos, vice president of operations at Ocean Spray, as saying: "By moving our grapefruit processing operations over to Peace River, we're focusing on our own greatest strength, beverage marketing."
