NutriPure Beverages has appointed a senior research scientist to research new formulations and "oversee all aspects of quality assurance".

The US-based water company said yesterday (22 January) that Jessica Dykun, who has previously worked in food science roles at both HJ Heinz Company's Innovational Center Analytical Laboratory and XND Technologies, will take on the position.

Dykun will also be responsible for the coordination of sourcing and formulation and will liaison directly with ingredient manufacturers and other key vendors and suppliers, the company said.

NutriPure Beverages CEO and president Steve Nickolas said: "With Ms. Dykun on board, we know that the scientific and quality assurance aspects of our formulations and productions are in extremely good hands, allowing the rest of our team to focus our attention on other aspects of operations including marketing and distribution."

NutriPure Beverages produces and distributes a line of nutrient-enhanced bottled water products free of calories, carbohydrates and colours.

The company also said that it is in the final stages of negotiations for the acquisition of assets for a second water company. A further announcement regarding that transaction is expected in due course.
