Polmos Bialystok has posted a healthy rise in net profit for the first nine months of this year.

The Polish vodka company, recently acquired by Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC), said yesterday (7 November) that net profit for the period increased by 10.8% year-on-year to PLN51.1m (US$15m) on the back of a 1.9% rise in sales to PLN832.8m.

For the third quarter, sales were up slightly to PLN286m from PLN283m a year earlier, with net profit dipping to PLN14.68m from PLN17.06m.

Bialystok, which saw CEDC buy a 61% stake in July, produces around 20% of the vodka sold in Poland.
