Yvon Mau has appointed a new sales director for the UK.

The Bordeaux-based wine company said late last week that Eddie Mosdell has already assumed the newly-created position.

"(Top-end Bordeaux wine) has always been part of my portfolio and I am looking forward to concentrating all my energy on this region," said Mosdell. "Based on what I have seen and tasted of the Yvon Mau range, they are very capable of offering both value and quality Bordeaux to the UK market."

No-one was immediately available to provide further information at Yvon Mau when contacted by just-drinks today (22 June).

In 2001, Yvon Mau was acquired by Spanish cava and still wine producer Freixenet for EUR23.6m (US$20.9m).
