A new body has been created to promote imported beers. Budweiser Budvar, Heineken and Tiger are among the major players who have signed up as founder members of the National Organisation for Imported Beers.

The new organisation will monitor the marketing of the sector, and will aim to highlight those beers brewed overseas, while exposing beers that falsely play on their foreign roots in advertising.

The chief executive of Budweiser Budvar, John Harley, will chair the new body.
