Caja Murcia, a Spanish savings bank, has bought a stake in local winery Casa de la Ermita. The purchase makes Caja Murcia the third largest shareholder in the wine company.

Casa de la Ermita said earlier this week that the bank had bought a 9% stake, after participating in a €2m capital increase undertaken by the winery.

The majority shareholder in Casa de la Ermita is businessman Pedro Jose Martinez, who holds 41%. He is followed by investment fund Inversiones Ibersuizas, which holds 38%.

The wine maker, which manages two wineries, saw its turnover last year increase by 25% year-on-year, reaching €5m.
