A new marketing push has been launched for Australian wine. The campaign, called "Open your mind to Australian wine," was launched today (3 May) by the Australian Wine & Brandy Corp.

The global campaign, targeted at overseas consumers, trade and media, hopes to educate the international community in the growing diversity and quality of wines from Australia, the trade body said.

The general manager of the Australian Wine Export Council, Jonathon Scott, said that the campaign aims to help the Australian wine industry overcome future challenges such as global competition and an oversupply in certain grape varieties.

"To maintain our markets and to grow beyond our current levels, the Australian industry needs to go beyond its existing market boundaries," Scott added.
