Shigeki Ota, a senior executive of the Kirin drinks group, has resigned as a director of the company's part-owned subsidiary Lion Nathan.

Shigeki Ota has been a Lion Nathan Director since 1998 and will be replaced by Hitoshi Oshima, who has been employed by Kirin since 1972, holding a number of senior management roles within Kirin. He is currently chief executive officer, International Beer Division of Kirin Brewery Co.

His appointment is effective from 14 May 2003.
