Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) has welcomed new managing director Alison Watkins, who starts in her role today.

Watkins replaces former head Terry Davis, who announced he was stepping down last year. Davis will advise the new MD until August.

CCA chairman David Gonski said: “I am delighted to welcome Alison on her first day at CCA. She comes to us with a wealth of experience as both a CEO and a non-executive director across many sectors - including the food and beverage industry, banking and management - and she fully understands the challenges ahead.”

Watkins was appointed on the same day she quit Australian agribusiness GrainCorp. Her resignation came days after the Australian Government vetoed a A$3.4bn (US$3.09bn) takeover bid for the company by US agribusiness giant Archer Daniels Midland.
