Carlsberg UK has announced the appointment of a new CEO. The company said today (13 June) that Doug Clydesdale will replace Lars Fellman from 1 January next year. Fellman is set to retire at the beginning of 2006.

Clydesdale is currently the managing director of brands and sales for Carlsberg UK, overseeing the on-trade and take-home sales divisions and marketing. Before joining Carlsberg in 1998, he held a number of senior marketing and general management positions. In his new role, Clydesdale will report to Nils S. Andersen, CEO of Carlsberg and chairman of the UK board.

In a statement, retiree Fellman said: "Doug Clydesdale has made an outstanding contribution to the development of our brands over the years and I have no doubt that he will continue to build on this track record going forward."
