A new CEO at Brau Union has been appointed. Nico Nusmeier will assume the position at the Heineken-owned Austrian brewer from 1 October. Nusmeier, 44, will also be responsible for Heineken's central and eastern European (CEE) activities.

Heineken has updated its regional structure, with its Russian, German and Greek presidents now reporting to the CEE headquarters in Vienna.

Prior to the promotion, Nusmeier was the head of Heineken in Poland.
