Coca-Cola has opened a new bottling plant in north-west China, according to local reports. Xinhua News Agency claimed yesterday (29 September) that the drinks giant has invested US$12m in the bottling plant, located in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province.

Luan Xiuju, a manager of Coca-Cola in China, was cited in the report as saying that the new facility will give the 58m consumers in north-west China the opportunity to drink locally-made Coke.

The new plant has an annual capacity of around 24m cases, the paper added.
