The Australian wine group, Peter Lehmann Wines Ltd, posted a net profit of A$6.9m for the year to the end of June, representing a 12% increase from last year. The company attributed the improvement to strong trading in international markets.

The company recorded EBIT of A$10.6m, up 9% from last year, while EBIT margin rose from 23.3% to 23.6%.

Total sales at Peter Lehmann rose by 7% to A$45.2m while sales revenues excluding agency lines were 14% up on last year. Peter Lehmann Wines said it was confident of improving on the 2001-02 net profit performance in the current financial year provided there were no significant changes in global economic conditions.
