Nestlé Waters France has confirmed that it is in exclusive negotiations to sell Nestlé Waters Supply Centre, which bottles Quézac, to Ardèche-based Société des Sources du Pestrin. The facility, which employs 54 permanent and 15 temporary staff, produced 77m bottles of Quézac last year, generating sales of EUR15m (US$16.9m).

"The development of our strategy in France, in order to meet new market challenges leads us to consider this takeover offer," a spokesperson for Nestlé Waters France told just-drinks yesterday.

The company would be "concentrating its marketing and industrial resources on its other leading French and international brands," he added. Nestlé Waters France has sold off three regional mineral water brands in the last two years.

Quézac is drawn from a source in the Lozère département in southern France.
