Nestlé has launched a new RTD coffee range in nitrogen-infused cans. Nescafé Azera Nitro claims the nitrogen gives a smoother and creamier taste, and brings the Azera brand "to the forefront of the fast-growing chilled coffee segment".

The new product is available in the UK in two flavours - Americano and Latte.

In addition to the retail channel, Nescafé Azera Nitro Americano will be available for the UK and Ireland catering and hospitality trades through Nestlé's coffee platform Nestlé Professional.

"Non-alcoholic beverage options are increasingly important for the UK and Irish consumer, especially younger generations," said Nestlé Professional business executive officer George Vezza.

Nitrogen has been used by other companies to add creaminess to beverages. In September 2015, Diageo launched Guinness Nitro IPA. In the same month, Boston Beer Co unveiled the Samuel Adams Nitro range.
