Nova Capital has expressed interest in Société Française des Eaux Régionales (SFER) and is set to audit the unit's books. SFER has production sites in Brittany, Greater Paris and Alsace, with brands including Eau de Plancoët, Eaux de Saint-Lambert and Carola.

A Nestle spokesperson told just-drinks today (1 March): "If it confirms its interest after the completion of the audit, negotiations would begin, even though at this stage Nestlé Waters France has not made a firm decision to sell."

He added: "The decision to consider negotiating the sale of SFER is motivated by a possible re-positioning of our national and international brand portfolio in France." Eau de Plancoët had volumes of 16m bottles last year.
