Nederburg Auction wine sales were up almost 14% on last year, with a record of R7.343m being achieved in two days, but in spite of the South African Rand hovering at R16 to £1, foreign buyers were still in the minority this year. Domestic supermarkets were again in the vanguard, claiming a third of all wines sold, with the Spar Group topping the order at 1,288 cases for R1.113m.
