National Beverage Corp upbeat on trading

National Beverage Corp has reported solid increases in both sales and profits for the first half of its fiscal year.

National Beverage said this week that net profits for the six months to 30 October rose by 10% to US$24.56m. Net sales increased by 3.4% to $327m. "We are very pleased to report these results," said group chairman and CEO Nick Caporella. 

For the second quarter, net profits rose by 9% to US$11.1m. Net sales increased by 4.5% on the same period of last year to $158m, said the group, which owns the Rip It energy drink brand and Everfresh juices.
