The Terlato Wine Group has changed the name of its established import company, Paterno Imports, to Paterno Wines International in order to reflect the enlarged international scope of the company.

"The new name more accurately reflects the scope of our business, in terms of the markets from which we source and in which we sell premium wines," said Anthony J. Terlato, chairman and chief executive officer of the Terlato Wine Group.

The name change will take effect from the beginning of February.  With sales of nearly 1.5 million cases in 2001, Paterno represents 35 wine brands from Italy, France, Spain, Greece, New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

"In addition to importing wine, we market California and Oregon wines throughout the U.S. We've also expanded our marketing activities outside the US, initiating exports for selected wines to international markets," Terlato added.
