Morrison Bowmore is now part of Beam Suntory Inc

Two more Morrison Bowmore Distillers executives are to leave the Suntory-owned company in a shake-up that has already seen the departure of the Scotch unit's CEO.

Douglas Crawford, the Scotch whisky firm's finance director, and Andrew Rankin, operations director, will move on in the next “several months as part of an organisational transition”, a spokesperson for Beam Suntory Inc confirmed to just-drinks yesterday. The spokesperson did not say if Crawford and Rankin will be replaced.

Mick Ord, Beam Suntory's director of Scotch & Irish Whiskies, “will provide day-to-day leadership to our operations across Scotland”, the spokesperson added.

The news follows the integration of Morrison Bowmore, previously part of Suntory Liquors, into Beam Suntory on 1 October. This week, Morrison Bowmore announced in a regulatory filing the departure of CEO Mike Keiller on 1 October after 14 years with the company.

The Beam Suntory spokesperson added that the integration has resulted in “new opportunities” for some Morrison Bowmore employees. Sales & marketing director David Wilson is to lead Beam Suntory's global Travel Retail and HR head, Judith Sommerville, will takeover HR for Beam Suntory's Scotch, Irish and global Travel Retail operations, the spokesperson said.

Crawford joined Morrison Bowmore in 1990 and has been finance head since 2000. Rankin was previously Morrison Bowmore's whisky supply director.

“Those who are departing the business do so with our utmost gratitude for their numerous contributions to Morrison Bowmore over the years,” the spokesperson added.
