The US unit of Molson Coors said last week that Adrian Benkonvich will replace Chuck Hare as president of Hop Valley, which MillerCoors bought in 2016. Benkonvich will take control of "day-to-day operations", with Hare transitioning to a CEO role that will see him "hit the road" to meet with retailers and distributors, MillerCoors said.

Benkonvich, who over the past two years has been craft & import development director for the Pacific region at MillerCoors' Tenth & Blake division, "is ideally suited to keep Hop Valley moving in the right direction, given that he's played a pivotal role in the brewery's expansion", said Pete Marino, Tenth & Blake president, in a note to distributors.

Hare said his new role is an opportunity "to get back to my roots, and get out there with our distributors and sell beer".

MillerCoors took a majority stake in Hop Valley three years ago when MillerCoors was still a JV between Molson Coors and SABMiller. Molson Coors now owns the MillerCoors unit outright.

Hop Valley was founded in 2009 and distributes in Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho and Vermont.
