Moet Hennessy has released the latest whisky in its Glenmorangie Private Edition series. Glenmorangie Allta celebrates the tenth anniversary of the series.

The whisky is made using a wild yeast strain specially cultivated for the release. Allta is Scots Gaelic for 'wild'. The whisky was aged in ex-Bourbon barrels.

"Glenmorangie Allta is a worthy whisky with which to mark the Private Edition's tenth anniversary," said Glenmorangie's director of distilling, whisky creation & whisky stocks, Bill Lumsden. "Yeast's influence on taste has been overlooked for years, but it's an area ripe for exploration. With a nose of biscuit, baking bread and floral notes, and rich tastes of vanilla, orange syrup and sweet chilli, Glenmorangie Allta opens up compelling possibilities for the future of Scotch whisky."

The whisky is available from today on Moet Hennessy's Clos 19 website. A wider launch will follow next month.
